A standard tuning costs $110. A full pitch raise before that tuning is an additional $40. This is usually only necessary when it's been many years since the last tuning. If the piano needs only a little extra tuning, I will either not charge anything, or charge $60/hour, which is also the repair rate for the first hour. After the first hour, the rate decreases.
If you agree to have your piano tuned 4 times/year, then I will tune it for $90 per tuning.
If I tune more than one piano in the same location, deduct 10% from the total. Also, Churches, Senior Centers, and Piano Teachers get 10% off.
Reshaping hammers is performed when the hammers have been used so much that they become flat. In this picture you can see the hammers closest to you have been roughly reshaped, compared to the hammers behind which are flat still. The next step here is to remove the tuft of felt gathered at the top of the hammers and then to continue sanding them with increasingly finer grits of sandpaper until they are smooth and properly egg-shaped.
I like them both. They both offer different benefits. If you prefer one, you can request that.

SHIMMING THE SOUNDBOARD
When the Soundboard cracks from age and humidity, it can be repaired with Spruce shims:
